Travel Insurance
Kimberley cruises are adventure cruises in remote parts of the Northwest of Australia. All passengers are required to take out comprehensive travel insurance prior to their journey, or to provide a signed waiver that they accept the liability. For this reason, we encourage you to be covered for International and Australian Waters for 'cancellation' and 'medical evacuation' just in case.
As mentioned, BlueSun Travel is a distributor for three travel insurance companies: nib Travel Services , CoverMore, GoTravel and PassportCard. We can provide information and quotes on travel insurance for cruises and tours. This is vital for anyone doing a Kimberley cruise and many vessels make it mandatory.

If you have further questions, call our office on 1300 799 758.
Domestic trips: No doctors or nurses are present on domestic or Kimberley Cruises. Please make sure you are adequately covered with travel insurance, especially for any circumstance that may warrant a medical evacuation. If you need expert travel insurance advice, call our Kimberley experts on 1300 799 758. We can assist you with quotes for four major travel insurance providers.

International voyages: When carrying over 100 people onboard (including crew), either a doctor or nurse will be present.

Expedition cruising involves rugged terrain, small boat transfers, and limited facilities. Guests need moderate mobility to board tenders, walk on uneven ground, and use stairs unaided. Those with medical or mobility limitations should consult us before booking, as crew may restrict activities or boarding for safety reasons.
Walkers must be stowed away at all times. Guests need to be able to navigate stairs and shore excursions without assistance, maintaining three points of contact on the ship. Our ships do not have wheelchair access or accessible cabins due to the expedition nature of our voyages and ship design.
It is not a requirement for passengers to carry passports when travelling within Australian waters. As an Australian-flagged operator, we remain within Australian waters throughout our domestic voyages. However, we do advise that you bring a form or ID with you. An up-to-date driver's license will suffice for Australian passengers.

What to wear and bring
Due to the climate and nature of cruising activities, clothing is generally light weight, loose fitting, sun smart and made of natural fibre. No need for those heels – evening wear tends to be smart casual.
Sturdy comfortable shoes (not boots) are required for land activities and we encourage guests to enjoy the freedom of being barefoot whilst on board the vessel.
Please provide your own toiletries. Bath and swimming towels will be provided. Sunscreen and insect repellents are provided on board, however if you have a particular brand preference, we suggest you include them in your luggage.
You can charge any of your appliances on board the vessel. You do not need an adaptor if you are an Australian traveller as it has a 240v set up.
Food and drink
Coral Expeditions does not allow you to bring your own (BYO) alcoholic drinks on the cruise.
All water on board is desalinated and safe to drink.
Free water is provided throughout the cruise and for all excursions.
Weight restrictions
The only weight restrictions you face are with the domestic airlines and what they allow you to bring (or pay for) onboard.
As the cruise does not include small senic transfers, passengers are not curtailed with space and weight limitations. That being said, we do ask guests to be sensible with luggage. The ship is very informal, so there's no need to bring dinner jackets and the crown jewels!
Should you anticipate your luggage to exceed this, please speak to our office about arranging storage for excess luggage during this time. Should you have any questions with regards to luggage restrictions please do not hesitate to contact our office.
