BUNGLE BUNGLE ECHIDNA CHASM OVERNIGHT TOUR

This scenic flight takes you on an unforgettable adventure over the Bungle Bungle Range, Lake Argyle, the Argyle Diamond Mine and the Ord River Irrigation Area. You will also fly over the stunning Carr Boyd and Osmand Ranges, and the Ord and Bow Rivers. Once reaching Purnululu National Park, you will land at the remote and unsealed Bellburn Airstrip, where you will be met by a tour guide and an air-conditioned 4WD bus.

From the airstrip, your guide will drive you further into the park, where you will then disembark and enjoy a guided walk throughout the famous eroded towers and black and orange banded beehive domes of the Bungle Bungle Range. This walk is of moderate intensity, and is about 3-kilometres in distance. From here, you will follow your guide on the walk into Cathedral Gorge, where towering cliffs open up to form a space with incredible natural acoustics. After a short rest, you will walk along the dry creek bed of Piccaninny Creek, before boarding the 4WD bus for a 45-60 minute drive to the northern end of the park.

A tasty picnic lunch will be provided to keep you fueled whilst exploring the park. After lunch, you will follow your tour guide on a 1.5-hour return walk into the incredible Echidna Chasm. The rocky path which you follow on this walk weaves between towering cliff faces, and at times will narrow to a width of less than two-metres. Gazing skywards to the bright blue sky, the orange towering walls look as if they are lit from within, and are scattered with Livistona palm trees clinging to the walls. This walk requires trekkers to climb over boulders and navigate stairs, so we recommend this tour to those with a high level of mobility.

After this walk, you will be driven to Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, where you will stay the night. Spend your night in a private en-suite cabin and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner and a full cooked breakfast.

The next morning after breakfast, you will return to Bellburn Airstrip for your return flight to Kununurra (either at 7:20am or 10:20am departure). On this flight, you will soar over the intriguing Argyle Diamond Mine, where rare pink diamonds were once mined, before touching back down in Kununurra.
