The Odyssey provides a really comfortable environment for passengers with a very relaxed atmosphere everywhere you go. The Captain's Bridge is an open door for anyone to visit and the dining lounge is an open galley. You are never isolated from the chef or other diners. Here are some useful topics:
What is my baggage allowance? Guests are always encouraged to travel with lightweight, soft bags for easy carriage and stowage. Some airlines do have weight limits and you are advised to check for weight restrictions and limits, particularly with domestic Australian airlines, prior to flying.
There is a washing machine and dryer on board. Laundry bags will be collected on the morning of “Day 5” and then be cleaned and ready for that evening. Special requests can be made throughout the journey.
On board dining is all about comfort, whether you are having your meal inside the vessel around one of the spacious tables or relishing the shade of the al fresco area. The space is perfect for all passengers whether dining or listening to presentations.
Odyssey carries the latest navigational equipment, radios and satellite communications. Mobile phones will not work in remote areas and there is no WiFi internet access. Guests are welcome to use the satellite phone but costs will apply.
Great audio-visual systems are on board and we offer a great DVD collection from movies to documentaries, a large range of music, magazines, board games and a library of books.
Smoking is permitted on board, but only in designated, outdoor areas. No smoking is allowed inside the vessel, especially the cabins.
The Odyssey requests that all passengers are in general good health to participate in the cruise and any excursions on land or water. It is important that you inform us of any medical or physical conditions that could affect your trip, prior to departure. The Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) is available to passengers, 24 hours a day, via satellite phone consultation and the instruction of qualified medical practitioners. On top of this, every staff members certified in senior first aid. The boat carries a general first aid kit at all times and a RFDS Medical Chest.
The Odyssey provides perfect souvenir branded items for sales such as long sleeve Polo shirts, hats, stubbieholders and coffee mugs. Very popular items are also the Kimberley Coast books, and Kimberley maps for charting your journey each day.
Our 12m expedition vessel, “Homer”, allows us to explore the tributaries and small creeks. We go where few can go and we do it in style. Lots of seating, shade, an easy access stair and ramp for landings and an onboard toilet and water facility.
Odyssey provides ample opportunities, for men and women, to try their hand at catching one of those really elusive barramundi. You don't have to be a pro! Fishing gear is provided onboard and our crew love taking you to their secret spots.
