10 NIGHT KIMBERLEY CRUISE DARWIN BROOME

Coral Adventurer, Coral Discoverer and Coral Geographer -10 Night Kimberley Cruise - Broome to Darwin (or reverse)

DAY 1 - BROOME

Our incredible adventure along the Kimberley Coast begins when we board in Broome.

DAY 2 - LACEPEDE ISLANDS

We will cruise through Pender Bay and we are expecting to visit Lacepede Islands. An island not be missed as it is known for its coarse sand and coral top, it is home to a huge amount of birds and also is a breeding ground for Green Turtles.

DAY 3 - HORIZONTAL FALLS AND BUCCANEER ARCHIPELAGO

Witness many islands as we cruise through Buccaneer Archipelago towards Talbot Bar. This area is know for the unique Horizontal Falls which are created by a 12 metre tide pushing through cliff gaps. Take an exhilarating ride through the falls before we head to Silica Beach for a relaxing afternoon.

 

DAY 4 - RAFT POINT AND RUBY FALLS

We enter Kuri Bay today and our first stop is Raft Point. We will go ashore and climb to visit the secluded Aboriginal rock. After your imagination has created enough wonderful stories, it’s off to Red Cone Creek where you can indulge in a relaxing swim at Ruby Falls.

DAY 5 - MONTGOMERY REEF AND DOUBTFUL BAY

Today you will visit the spectacular Montgomery Reef, a natural phenomenon that rises 4 metres above the water. After you’ve had your taste of the reef we’ll enjoy a scenic cruise through Doubtful Bay.

DAY 6 - PRINCE REGENT RIVER & KING CASCADE

We cruise the mighty Prince Regent River aboard the Explorer tender vessel to witness the breathtaking King Cascades, a picturesque waterfall cascading over terraced rock formations. Enjoy a picnic lunch and a relaxing swim at beautiful Camp Creek.

DAY 7 - BIGGE ISLAND AND CAREENING BAY

This morning we visit Bigge Island – an island known for its ancient art from both the Wandjina and Bradshaw galleries. After lunch, we will  head to Careening Bay where you will visit the historic “Mermaid” Boab tree, named by Philip Parker King and inscribed almost 200 years ago!

DAY 8 - HATHAWAY’S HIDEAWAY AND MITCHELL FALLS

Today we will anchor at Winyalken Bay where we will explore the maze of caves known as Hathaway’s Hideaway. You then have the option to take a scenic flight over the Mitchell Falls for an additional cost.

DAY 9 - VANSITTART BAY DC3 AND JAR ISLAND

Join the Oceanic Discoverer expedition Leader on a walk across salt flats to view the wreckage of a US Air Force DC3, which crash landed on the beach during World War II. Later, visit Jar Island and discover the island’s outstanding rock art gallery. Our Guest Lecturers will point out fine examples of the Kimberley’s mysterious Bradshaw Paintings (Gwion), dating back some 20,000 years.

DAY 10 - KING GEORGE RIVER AND FALLS

Our first trip starts in the might King George, we will hop into our excursion vessel ‘Explorer’, where we explore scenic gorges and get close up with the King George Falls. These falls stand at 80 metres tall and will make you flabbergasted. In the evening we visit secluded Tranquil Bay for exploration time.

DAY 11 - DISEMBARK SHIP, DEPART BROOME

Arrive in Darwin early morning and disembark around 08.00 am.
