Come sail with us on the gorgeous MV Oceanic and do something that few people have ever done before and that is to sail the Kimberley coast.
The concept behind Oceanic is brilliant. It was born out of a desire to give travellers something real and affordable, a hands-on adventure in the remote Northwest of Australia. And this is where you get to live the excitement of exploring, fishing, island hopping, mud crabbing, sailing , swimming, whale watching. This is the Kimberley that the original explorers met first hand.
Oceanic is a 24 metre rigged sailing yacht that cruises the Kimberley coast between Broome and Wyndham. There is practically nothing more magical than seeing the Kimberley under sail and just soaking up the pristine wilderness as she passes you by. And for all of you foodies, you need to check out the amazing cuisine…..it will have your mouth watering thanks to the three onboard chefs.
Oceanic was built in 1992 and refurbished in 2105. She can comfortably cruise at 6 knots though sometimes a big quicker when power and wind is combined. She carries 8,000 litres of fresh water and 12,000 litres of fuel. Oceanic also carries two tenders for exploring the beautiful coastline, beaches and rivers.
Oceanic has enough space for 24-30 passengers as she cruises the Kimberley, but this is where Oceanic is also in a league of her own, because 19 of these guests sleep onboard, whilst the other 11 passengers get to sleep under the stars in campsite accommodation. The choice of onboard accommodation is en suite double, double, or shared bunk accommodation with shared bathrooms.
Those that chose to camp on the beach get new Mitchell dome king single and queen swags with mozzie nets.
Now how’s that for authenticity and being at one with Mother Nature!
All bedding is supplied with linen and towels for all cabins and beach campers, plus there is ample storage on board for luggage and day packs too.
Dining is both indoor and outdoor with al fresco areas. The top deck is just breathtaking for its stunning views.
Prices start at $1800 per person, with all inclusive meals and transport (excluding flights and hotel accommodation, though we can help with those too). Alcohol is BYO. Two options are available:
